About

OmniCarbon is a personal project of mine — created to challenge and undercut the inflated pricing structure of the cycling industry.

It began when I looked into building my own set of carbon wheels. That curiosity turned into an obsession: researching every available part from both East and West, comparing prices, and learning the entire supply chain from the ground up. Within a week, I had a name — OmniCarbon — and registered it as a business in Finland, purely to access manufacturer pricing and see how it compared to what consumers pay.

The difference was staggering. As a business, I could order prototype rims, hubs, and spokes from separate manufacturers, build several complete wheelsets, and still spend less than buying one high-end consumer wheelset — with better performance and higher quality.

That discovery inspired me to start producing my own wheels. My goal isn’t to offer large returns to investors or inflate prices through branding. My goal is to offer cyclists uncompromising performance at a fair price — built by someone who rides and understands where every euro goes.

As long as I can work independently and stand behind what I build, I’m satisfied.

With best regards,

Rims

Our rims are produced in partnership with a Taiwanese manufacturer specializing in filament-wound carbon. This process delivers exceptional precision and consistency — every rim comes out of the mold with a perfect matte finish, requiring no clear coat and saving around 15 g per rim.

Despite their low weight — our Optima 52mm rims weigh just 340 g — they exceed the UCI drop test standard by a factor of three. We also use a no-drill rim bed design, which slightly complicates assembly but greatly improves strength and eliminates the need for rim tape, further reducing weight.

The result is a lightweight, durable, and visually flawless rim built to perform.

Hubs

Our hubs are sourced from Bitex, one of Taiwan’s leading precision hub manufacturers.
They use a 34-tooth star ratchet system, offering the ideal balance between quick engagement and long-term durability. The geometry closely mirrors the proven DT Swiss 240 design.

Each hub is fitted with TPI steel bearings — a cost-effective, high-quality option with negligible real-world difference in performance compared to Japanese NTN bearings. We are also exploring NTN bearing upgrades for future models.

We don’t offer ceramic bearings; their performance benefit is largely theoretical and doesn’t justify the cost or reduced durability.

Every hub is hand-assembled and lubricated using a combination of specialized greases — including silicone-based seal grease — to achieve minimal drag and maximum protection.

Spokes & Nipples

We use Alpina Raggi spokes and self-locking nipples from Italy, available in both aluminum and brass. Customers can choose between lightness or long-term corrosion resistance.

Each wheel is precision-built using professional calibration tools to achieve a maximum 5% spoke tension variance.

Pricing

OmniCarbon operates with minimal overhead and exceptionally thin margins. Our pricing reflects that — competitive, transparent, and based on the true cost of production.

We don’t claim to reinvent cycling technology; we apply proven engineering principles with care and integrity.
All wheels include a 3-year warranty and free crash replacement within the first year of purchase (see our full Warranty Policy for details).

The value proposition is simple: unmatched performance for the cost.
